The Ultimate Gift Guide for Little Girls in 2019!
Well, Merry Christmas, everybody!!! It’s THAT time of year! Some would say it’s the MOST wonderful time of the year (and I would be one of them). I’m obsessed with the decor, the songs, the added emphasis on giving and cheer.
But, if you’re like me, and are always loving the holidays, but stressed most about what to get for your pint-sized loved ones, then THIS is the post for you!
It’s finally time for THE gift guide you’ve been waiting for (and just barrrrely in time for Black Friday – yahoo)!
More good news: this year, instead of splitting my suggestions up into multiple posts, I am giving you ALL of my best suggestions here in one giant, fabulous, incredible, (etc. etc) gift guide!
But there is one caveat: this year’s gift guide is ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS. The little ones, to be exact. (Because, of course, I have a lot of them.) And I hope you LOVE it! But first, let’s chat about how things are changing for us.
How We Are Doing Christmas This Year
I hinted at this recently, but this year, we’re doing things a little bit differently when it comes to gift giving!
First, we’re prioritizing giving to OTHERS. If you missed how we’re doing that, check out last week’s post: 10 Ways to Give this Holiday Season (& Teach Your Kids to Give, Too)!
Secondly, we are going to be buying in categories to help simplify the process, and be sure we don’t overbuy for our littles! So each of our girls is going to get gifts in these areas:
- Something to wear
- Something to create
- Something to learn
- Something to read
- Something(s) from your sibling(s)
(Additionally, we’ve heard Santa is planning to bring a couple of specific items depending on what they wish for, but it won’t be many or much).
Other versions of these categories to fill are:
- Something you want, something to read, something for fun, something you need! ( How adorable is that?!)
- I’ve also heard a longer version: something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read, something to do, something for “me,” something for family
I’ve attempted to include items in each age range that will work for each of these categories!!! 😅
Oh, and I gotta tell ya: there ARE affiliate links in this post, which means that if you make a purchase from clicking a link, I’ll get a small commission. Thanks (oh so much) for supporting me and the products and brands I love! It helps keep thangs goin’ over here.😘 And believe me when I say it had no influence on my selections!
Let’s start with the babes and go up from there!!!
Gifts for the Baby Girl (Ages 0-1):
1. Sit Me Up Floor Seat – (Amazon) one of my buddies SWEARS BY this seat because her babe can sit in it all throughout the house. It folds flat so makes a great travel seat and would transition into a high chair of sorts when it’s time for that!
2. Love to Dream Swaddle – $29.99 (Amazon) This swaddle apparently lets babes sleep in their preferred position, and is great for those that love their hands by their faces. So if that’s your little one, this swaddle is for you!!
3 . Fun, interactive books! Some that I adore for my littlest include: Noisy Farm Book – approximately $10 (Amazon) Ours clearly has gotten an incredible amount of use – see pic – haha. Never Touch a Monster (Touch & Feel) – (Amazon), Indestructibles: Baby, Let’s Eat! – less than $5! (Amazon)
4. Baby Blocks – $19.99 + taxes/shipping (www.craft-e-family.com) These blocks are adorable and a perfect gift for a family with a new baby!!! We have been given blocks for all three of our girls and are SO. GLAD. we have them!!!
5. Baby Booties – Luvable Friends Baby Cozy Fleece Booties with no-skid bottoms are adorable (and actually stay put!) – (Amazon). Goumie Booties are another stellar option – somewhere between $9-$32 depending on size/style (Amazon) or check out their website for more options.
6. Urban Kiddy™ Baby’s My First Family Album – (Amazon) – A perfect little personalized book. Ideal for a babe with family members that are far away!
7. Fridababy MediFrida the Accu-Dose Pacifier Baby Medicine Dispenser – $12.84 (updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) Ya’ll. Fridababy is going for it. As if the NoseFrida wasn’t life-changing enough for new parents everywhere, they are branching out into other extremely helpful products including a medicine dispenser/binky which I listed here. Incredible. Other Fridababy products that I’ve heard are amazing include the Fridababy Breathe Easy Kit – $19.99 (Amazon), the Fridababy Bath Bombs – $7.97 (Amazon), and of course, the favorite, the one, the only, NoseFrida – $17.69 (Amazon). Trust me, I’ve tried some bobo brands and nothing compares, sadly.
8. Milk Snob Car Seat/Breastfeeding Cover – $36.00 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) This car seat and breastfeeding cover (2 in 1!) is getting rave reviews! I bought a similar, stretchy cover on etsy for our babe and didn’t use it enough. HOWEVER – this one seems to be of better quality and purpose than the one I have and if you’re a breastfeeding mama, it might just be perfect.
9. Snoo Smart Sleeper By Happiest Baby – $906 (not a typo) on Amazon (price as of 11/29/19). I’ve heard RAVE reviews about this incredibly expensive piece of baby gear. Friends claim it is totally worth the money if you’re getting it from the get-go. However, if the babe you’re buying for is already a couple months old, it may be cheaper to rent one. Go in with a couple of friends (or 12) and buy one for that new baby that you’re waiting on!
10. B. Toys Stacking Rings – $7.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) These are my favorite stacking rings because they are multi-sensory, with different textures! Our littlest loves them!
11. Aqua Magic Water Doodle Mat – $13.98 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) It’s never too early to get a baby started on works of art! This mat is perfect for creating a no-mess art environment that will help that babe start learning the cause and effect behind moving their markers and seeing some colorful results. Our kids love ours!
“Experience” Gift Ideas for the Baby Girl (Ages 0-1):
Looking to gift that baby in your life with an experience, instead of a tangible item? Try these suggestions!
- Gift the family with a zoo membership!
- Gift mom and baby with a Stroller Strides or Baby Yoga (check with local studios) gift card (for a mom who wants to get fit and a babe who wouldn’t mind tagging along).
- Gift the fam with a Music Together or Kindermusik class to get baby enjoying some tunes with a parent!
- Gift the babe with a Mommy/Daddy & Me swimming class at a local pool (gets trickier for mamas with multiple littles).
Gifts for the Little Girl (Ages 1-3):
1. Pillow Pets – $24.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) These cuddly creatures are perfect for bedtime and beyond. We have a puppy, a cow, and a unicorn (thanks, Aunt Kayli!) We had yet to find a perfect toddler-sized pillow, but our girls LOVE these.
2. Melissa & Doug Bake & Decorate Cupcake Set – $16.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) I have purchased MANY of these for ourselves and friends because it’s one of my ALL-TIME favorite sets. It requires pretend play and creativity. Even our littlest joins in. It’s SO. MUCH. FUN.
3. INNOCHEER Kids Doctor Kit – $23.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) Obviously, we have to have one of these around! We’re upping our doctor’s kit game this year with this deluxe kit! Try this one for a cheaper and simpler option: Doc McStuffins Hospital Doctor’s Bag Set – $11.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon)
3. Jack & Lily Shoes – prices range from $18 for clearance to $40 (https://www.jackandlily.com/) I have not found ANY shoes for this age group that are better than these. They ship from Canada but are adorable, soft, and easy to put on and remove (oh…and they are also dreamily adorable).
4. Disney Dress-Up Clothes – $12.95-$40ish (Disney) Disney is having a 50% off Black Friday sale on actual Disney dresses, which I’ve found to be much better quality than the options I’ve had on Amazon! If you’ve been following my stories, you’ve noticed that my 3-year-old changes from “regular” clothes into fancy dress wear IMMEDIATELY upon arriving at home. Every day. But, she does love some other options too. Although a little cheaper in quality, she would recommend these Dress Up Clothes – $32.02 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon). And she also LOVES these. Oh, and if you’re just looking for a great replica Ana dress, THIS one ($11.89 as of 11/29/19 – Amazon) is my favorite that we have! If you’re not super into princesses, I’ve heard THIS set is GREAT as well and includes a popstar, fairy, princess, and bride instead of princess-wear. ($34.98 as of 11/29/19 – Amazon)!
5. Alex Discover Button Art Activity Set Kids Art and Craft Activity – $9.40 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) This set keeps our girls busy for AT LEAST 15 minutes at a time, and is able to be used again and again. It’s a great activity for fine motor, as well as starting on color matching! Also – not best for babes who are still putting items in their mouths!
6. Fun books! Some of my favorites in the 1-3 year old range are Spoon (The Spoon Series) – $12.75 hardcover (Amazon), Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? – $5.79 (Amazon), and Friends With God Story Bible – $15.79 (Amazon) (all prices as of 11/29/19)
7. Zingo – $19.99 (price as of 11/29/19 – Amazon) This game has become incredibly popular lately! It’s a perfect learning game. We don’t have it yet but I’ve heard rave reviews from friends!
8. Emoji Bead Bracelet Creation Set – $9.97 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) Our girls love this set and have made a ton of creations from it! I don’t always love the appearance of emojis, but these are done tastefully!
Experience Ideas for this age:
- Gift the little gal with a My Gym or Little Gym class or gift card! These classes have been so much fun for ours!
- Check with a local dance studio and gift her with a dance class!
- Swimming lessons are a real winner at this age!
- Gift the family with a Science Museum membership!
Gifts for the “Bigger” Girl (Ages 4-6):
1. Calico Critters – We got the Calico Critter Cozy Cottage starter home – $34.88 and a couple of sets (like the triple bunk beds – $7.15 and the baby friends – $14.99) for our oldest gal on her 5th birthday, and man, were they ever a hit! The pieces fit together extremely well and are so fun (a pool that turns over and becomes a sandbox?!). Warning: tons of teeny, tiny pieces, and so many possible sets to get that this will become a likely addiction for your little one. Ha! (prices updated 11/29/19 – Amazon)
2. Ez Roller Mini – $79.95 ((price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) These are the hit of the year. Easier than a bike, but gets you around pretty quickly! I’ve seen others talking about how amazing they are and can’t wait to get in on the fun! The mini version (which I linked here) is perfect for ages 2-5.
3. Carter’s Jersey Nightgown and Doll Dress Set – $19.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) This an adorable idea for your gal to wear and dress her doll for bed as well!!
4. Quick Cups, Match ‘N’ Stack Family Game for Kids Aged 6 & Up – $11.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) This game has become a family-favorite! Even though it says ages 6+, it will be playable for any kid able to follow simple directions and match colors!
5. Liberty Imports Princess Play Shoe and Jewelry Boutique – $21.95 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) – I love these for older girls who are looking to dress up their pretty dresses. They are cheap and will DEFINITELY get broken. BUT, for the price, they are fun and a great supplement to a dress up box. (Don’t forget to keep them away from the babies’ mouths, though!)
Hope you LOVED this year’s gift guide and found everything you were needing for that little gal in your life!
6. Learn & Climb Science Kit for Kids – $22.99 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) We’re very excited to try this kit with our girls this year! The ones we got previously did not have as many experiments, so I’m very excited to try a larger one.
7. Toddler Girls’ Thermal Underwear Set – Cat & Jack™ – $9.99 (Target) We love getting practical items for our girls! It’s a perfect gift in preparation for that cooler weather that will be joining us soon! THIS one from Champion is also cute! – $17.99 (Target)
8. ABC Draw With Me Cards – $15.98 (price updated 11/29/19 – Amazon) Our oldest LOVES these cards which are dry erase and help you learn to write letters (and also following drawing instructions to turn each letter into a cute little animal). A great letter reinforcer and learning tool!
“Experience” Gift Ideas for the “Big” Girl (Ages 4-6):
- See if the area has a local America Ninja Warrior gym and gift her with a class (or classes)!
- Gift her with an ice skating adventure!
- Gift her with Bouncy House sessions!
- See if there is a gymnastics class in the area that you could gift her with!
- Get her a gift card for a trip to the movie theater!
