FabFitFun: Is it REALLY all those things?
Well, to answer that question, in short, YES. And I was SUPER skeptical. After all, approximately 892,000 celebrities and influencers promote this thing and I, personally, find it hard to believe anyone who is getting paid to talk about anything. Any other skeptics in the house?! Also, I really thought the most likely scenario would be that I would like about 2 things and then consider the rest C-R-A-P. But I gave in. I finally gave in and bought the box. And fortunately, the C-R-A-P scenario was not the case at all! Very exciting!!!
Before we start, you need to know 2 things:
- I am not getting paid, reimbursed, or literally ANYTHING AT ALL to write about this! Just me and you and some honesty. (Edit for full transparency, which you will ALWAYS get from me: AFTER I wrote this whole entire post, I was looking for a coupon code for you lovelies, and learned that if you use my referral code at the end, you’ll get $10 credit and I’ll get $15 credit to my FabFitFun account. But seriously, that had LITERALLY NOTHING to do with my decision to write about this! Promise! But you need to know that!)
- I don’t usually do posts like this, but it seemed appropriate, as I’m getting back in to beauty/fashion land following my third babe. (Finally!) If you want to check out some of my other recent updates, you can find boots/shoes makeover HERE and my fav mom outfits HERE, or my LipSense obsession HERE.
The truth is, I seriously LOVE the idea of getting this box quarterly, especially because I am all about self-care for hard-working mamas and spouses to dudes in crazy jobs. So, I had to tell you about it.
What made me decide to try it?
I didn’t really have a long Christmas list. Actually, THIS was the only thing on it! I asked for it because I had been wanting the Thrive Causemetics highlighter stick for my makeup adventures and it was going to be $24. With the coupon code I had from a podcast I listen to, the FabFitFun box was only $39, so it seemed to make major sense to me to purchase the box and get my highlighter PLUS all of the insane extras for just a little bit more!
Side note: For Christmas, my husband also surprised me with Seahawks tickets + adorable Seahawks sweatshirt + adorable Seahawks hat. It was a very thoughtful little football package for me! And we had the BEST time!
A couple of weeks after Christmas, my FabFitFun Winter box came. Honestly, it was ordered Dec 14th, so I kind of thought it would come sooner. But no luck! I’m sure I could have investigated the shipping schedule and learned when I should expect to receive it, but I did not. So that’s on me.
This particular box, the Winter 2018 Box, is no longer available, BUT the Spring Box will be coming up soon and I am definitely IN! I’m going to tell you about that Winter box here so that you have an idea of the kinds of goodies you might expect if you get one! Here are all of the goodies I got!
1. Mark & Graham Colorblock Throw – Retail Value $49
This is a super soft and gorgeous throw! I love the light gray colors of mine, and you better believe you’ll be seeing it in lots of Instagram pics soon! Actually, I ended up using it as the backdrop in my main pic for this post! It’s not huge (50” x 60”), but will work perfectly for the kids and for my pics! Here’s a shot that should give you size reference!
2. AHAVA Hydration Cream Mask – Retail Value $33
This is a lovely lightweight mask. It says the goal is hydration, and that’s exactly how my face felt after spending some time with it 🙂 You can leave it on overnight for some extra hydration! I will probably use it when my skin is feeling extra dry. I prefer a thicker mask, usually!
3. Blaq Eye Mask (5 masks) – Retail Value $29
These are supposed to reduce undereye puffiness. Honestly, I loved the way it felt when on, but didn’t notice a big difference in my puffiness level! What I really need is something for these dark undereye circles!
4. Thrive Causemetics Eye Brightener Highlighting Stick – Retail Value $24
More subtle than I expected, but goes on smoothly and easily! It’ll be the perfect addition to my everyday makeup routine!
5. Bearpaw Headband and Pop-Top Glove Duo – Retail Value $45
Perfect for the chilly weather right now! I feel like the headband is a little bulky but it’s super warm and cozy so I will still wear it, for sure! The gloves are perfect for showing off my manis but still keeping me warm! Love them!
6. PUR Eyeshadow Palette – Retail value – $36
Goes on light, which is perfect for me (who chronically overapplies). The colors are legit gorgeous. I love me some glitter. This is one of my favorites from the box!
7. Lele Sadoughi Necklace – Retail value – $49
Very pretty! It’s feels slightly cheaply made, but I love the style and length and it’ll be great with so many outfits.
8. Brooke Burke Body Sliders – Retail value – $18
TBH, I haven’t tried them. Seems like a good home workout option but I just haven’t figured out how to do that with all of the tiny people who live in my home ranging free.
9. Way of Will Essential Oils – Retail value – $31
How fun is this?! I love having smells in our house, and the Eucalyptus is so good. Like, so good. You can also directly apply them to your skin for a variety of purposes.
There we have it! One of the cool things about the box is that there are many items you can customize! So here are some of the other options I could have grabbed:
Moroccan Gold Series Treatment Mask (instead of the gloves/headband)
Richer Poorer Over The Knee Socks (instead of the eyeshadow palette)
Sherrie Matthews Jade Roller (instead of the eyeshadow palette)
Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo (instead of the necklace)
H Halston Jewelry Portfolio (instead of the necklace)
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lips (instead of the Brooke Burke body sliders) – only annual subscribers got to make a choice here.
Anthropologie Mer Sea Beauty Coconut Sugar Sea Whip Body Cream (instead of the Essential Oils) – again, only annual subscribers got to make a choice here.
The bottom line: This box retails for about $300 and I got it for $39. Cra. zy. And it was so. fun. I also got one for a best buddy of mine (holla, Molls!) and she loved it, too! I see many more FabFitFun boxes (for myself and my friends/family!) in my future! So next time you have no idea what to get for your sis/sister-in-law/mom/niece for the next special occasion, it’s totally worth considering!
If you want to try it out, too, the website to sign up with my code is HERE! You’ll get $10 off to snag YOURS for $39 too! Yippee!
Thanks for joining in today! I seriously CANNOT WAIT to see you back here on Saturday!!! I will be talking about my favorite person and my favorite thing about him in: The Heart of a Surgeon.
