My Gift Guide for New Moms (or ANY Mom, really!)

So you’ve seen my Gift Guide for Little Gals, and now it’s time to time care of their mommies! If the mom you’re buying for is anything like me, then the #1 thing she wants for Christmas is…

a break.

A nice, delicious break.

Yes, a long soak in a tub, a solid 2 hours at Starbucks to sip a yummy bevvie, a weekend getaway with her besties, a day-long walk through Target…all would be glorious. (I promise we ADORE our kids, but any kidless type of presents make for the best gifts right now). HOWEVER, if that’s not logistically possible (and there are hundreds of reasons why those gifts are often not possible), then consider these:

Things to pamper her:

  1. A fabulous bath caddy: Give her the accessories for the world’s BEST BATH. I’ve been dying to have one of these caddies for a long time. $39.99
  2. A bath pillow: A place to rest your head makes a big difference in the bath! I personally have a cheaper version, but it’s not great, so I’m recommending a step up, with better reviews. $26.95
  3. Bath & Body Works Candles: Get her alllll the lovely candles. Bath & Body Works beats anything else I’ve tried personally! They are often on sale so be sure to pick the right time to buy! Original price is $24.50 but please promise me you won’t pay that.
  4. Charcoal mask: A new mom needs some MAJOR pampering. A mask is great because she can do it in the comfort of her own home! I love this charcoal mask from Mary Kay. Go see my BFF Stephanie in her Facebook Group Mary Kay with Stephanie Lee and she’ll hook you up. $24.00
  5. Lipsense: Lipsense is the BEST. It’s a GREAT gift for a new mom, because it is lip color that you put on once, and it stays practically all day! No mom has time for multiple applications. I will do a separate post on them sometime, because they’re an obsession of mine. I have an embarrassing amount. My friend Katie sells them in her Facebook group: Lips, Love, and the Pursuit of Makeup with Katie. $25 for most shades.
  6. Spafinder gift card: this gift card can be used for a wide variety of services at loads of spas, and even some yoga studios and other fitness centers. It has tons of options around my house, but you’d want to check the recipient’s area first! Name your price. And see more gift card ideas below!
  7. Colorstreet nail wraps: Jamberry is great, too, but these nail polish strips are easier to apply and are definitely the next, new thang 🙂 In case you missed my post about my nail wrap obsession, check it out HERE. Then go see my friend Ann’s Facebook page HERE and get hooked up with some goods. She’s FAB. Prices vary from about $9-$13 per set, depending on the design.

Things to remind her of her favorite tiny people:

  1. Stella & Dot customized jewelry: I just went to a Stella & Dot party and was reminded of all of the gorgeous engravable jewelry that can be engraved with kid’s initials, names or personalized with birthstone accents! I have a lot of jewelry from Stella and Dot. THIS necklace happens to be my personal fav (it’s not customizable), because it’s so lightweight I never have to take it off. It has remained in like-new condition in the silver version for about 2 years now! Look for a consultant in your area! Prices vary!
  2. A customized ring: Especially if this kid is her last, she will for sure love this ring! My sister-in-law recently got one from Zales in the white gold version and is a big fan. I am linking the sterling silver version HERE – it’s $279.00, and the white gold version is HERE – it’s $669.00. Ouch. But watch for deals because it was 50% off when my sister-in-law got hers!

Stella & Dot!

Things for the nursing mommy:

  1. Bamboobies: I used disposable nursing pads UNTIL a friend recommended these, and honestly I felt super silly I did not know about them, because they’re the very best kept secret for nursing moms!!!! Best for moms of brand new babies (when you’re the most leaky…gross but true). I linked my favorite assortment! $17.23. And while you’re at it, make sure she has THESE THINGS I wrote about a few weeks ago, if she’s a pumping mom!
  2. Open cardigan sweater: These are cute, cozy, and best of all, are perfect to wear with nursing tanks! If you’ve been following me, you know I love American Eagle. I just bought this cardigan (it hasn’t come yet): AE Boucle Cardigan Boyfriend Sweater in Mustard – $29.97. But I really wanted this one, too: AE Slouchy Waffle Cardigan Sweater in Rust – $24.97. I’m also a huge fan of this one from Old Navy because I’ve been wanting to have a longer style: Open-Front Long-Ling Sweater for Women in Oatmeal – $39.99 (but 50% off right now!)

Things to help her feel cooler (I mean, YOU try to come up with this category name):

  1. Wine labels for new moms: These are hilarious. Choose how many you want, from options such as “First Mommy Meltdown,” “Baby Slept Through the Night” or even Holiday themed: “Mommy’s Little Helper,” “Pairs Well with Christmas Break,” etc. Seriously hilarious. Oh, and don’t forget the wine. She’ll want that, too. $9.99 +
  2. Apple Watch: Okay, I know. Super pricey. BUT I have loved being able to answer my phone from my watch, while simultaneously changing the sheets on my daughters bed, repositioning my baby’s bottle, and answering questions about Jesus being in the heart or the tummy. Other perks: I can track my sleep (and let me tell you, it ain’t pretty), and when time outs call for a timer, Siri is always there willing to help. Not to mention, it’s super cute. A new version, the Series 4, just came out, so it’s a great time to score the 3 for cheaper. The Series 3 starts at $279, and the Series 4 starts at $399 (It’s $100 more for a watch equipped with cellular data).
  3. Brass Easel and Prints: This adorable gift is perfect for a mom going back to work. It comes with 12 prints that you can take right from your newborn photos and displays them beautifully, one at a time, on the desk: – $55.00

Not too shabby last night!

Gift Card Ideas:

I actually LOVE gift cards. They are truly some of my most favorite gifts.

JUST A LITTLE GIFT CARD SHPIEL: Waaaay too many moms I know don’t get to leave the house unless paying a babysitter, and therefore end up not getting to use the gift card without it costing major dolla dolla bills. So, cash to pay a babysitter, or making a prior arrangement with her family to get her the time away would be a sweet bonus! Consider that when checking out these options:

  1. Gift card to UberEats or other meal delivery service in her area (skip a cooking plan, like HelloFresh or BlueApron unless you’re sure her spouse can help a LOT!) Be sure to make sure it’s offered in her city first!
  2. Gift card for a housekeeper to come get the place clean!
  3. Gift card for dinner, shopping, or a movie, (or all of the above!)
  4. Gift card for a spa adventure (massage, facial, mani, pedi, etc.) See that spafinder recommendation earlier. Lord KNOWS she is going to need this!
  5. Gift card to her favorite makeup store (i.e. Ulta, Sephora, etc)
  6. Gift card for StitchFix. Let a stylist bring the clothes to her! I used StitchFix constantly after I had my first two kids. I also gave a gift card to my mom a couple of years ago and she’s kept it going this whole time. And PS – nothing is sponsored in this post, but this link gives me a referral bonus, just FYI!

Lastly, just a reminder that words of affirmation and appreciation are equally valuable to a new mom! So DEFINITELY don’t skip that.

How’d we do here? Any ideas that will work for you or the lady in your life?!

Oh, and HEY! If you’re enjoying hanging out with me, let’s be friends! I’d love to have you to chat with on Instagram or Facebook! Hugs to all!!!
